Retreat day buzz and slapdash chai!

I’m still a little high from my ayurveda and yoga retreat day this past weekend. I just had the best day with 20 amazing women. We practiced yoga, chanted mantra, meditated, walked the grounds of Trelowarren, chatted about Ayurveda and ended our day with a candlelit yin practice. The food cooked for us by Victoria was utterly amazing – two types of dhal for lunch and poached pears for pudding, oh my!

In the afternoon we stopped for a chai break and devoured my favourite bliss balls from Good Vibes cafe in Falmouth, Dan & Jade make this balls with a whole lot of peanut butter and cocoa. Sweet and salty – perfect for vata!

A few people asked me for my chai recipe after the weekend and I have to say I am pretty slapdash with my chai! But here is my recipe for Keren’s slapdash chai for one person

one cup of your choice of milk

one cup of water

3 cloves

6 cardamon pods

a splodge of cinnamon

at LEAST one tablespoon of grated ginger

Pop that all in a pan with a PG tips teabag and simmer for at least 5-8 mins (do not boil)

Sweeten with maple syrup or brown sugar (not honey)

ENJOY
